2018 National Conference and Fundraiser

June 29th - July 1st, 2018
Washington, DC

All family members and grandparents of those affected by Juvenile Myositis (JM), including Juvenile Dermatomyositis and Juvenile Polymyositis, are invited to attend the 12th Cure JM National Family Conference!

Join over 100 other Cure JM families and prominent JM researchers for a spirited weekend of sharing and connecting with families, physicians, and researchers. Families will also learn about the latest in Juvenile Myositis research and treatments.

Friday and Saturday, families will participate in small-group breakout sessions on a wide variety of topics of interest to Cure JM families.

Saturday, all participants are invited to attend interactive sessions with an elite group of JM experts who will give an update on the latest research and answer audience questions.

Sunday, families will walk in the Walk Strong to Cure JM™ family fun walk to raise funds for JM research. The walk will feature food, fun, entertainment and a short walk. This is a highlight of the weekend!  More information coming soon.

Throughout the weekend:

  • Families will get the latest information on Juvenile Myositis diagnosis, treatment, and research; participate in small group educational sessions and connect with other Cure JM families.
  • Grandparents and extended family will get the latest information on Juvenile Myositis and attend a Grandparent Workshop focused on the special role that grandparents and extended family play in their families and the Cure JM community.
  • Children will enjoy their own fun activities while their caregivers are in the educational sessions -- and back by popular demand, the Kids' Fun Camp for all Cure JM children and siblings age 3-12.
  • Teens & Tweens will enjoy activities and workshops, designed for patients and siblings to have fun and connect with each other while learning the basics of photography. Teens & tweens can also attend a teen-only breakout session and a workshop on transitioning to adult care.
  • Young Adults will connect with other young adults with JM throughout the weekend in a variety of ways, including Young Adult Coffee, suggested for ages 18 and up.

We look forward to seeing everyone in Washington, DC! Please contact with any questions.
