Ronda Thorington
Mental Health Coordinator

Ronda Thorington

Ronda Thorington is a Licensed Professional Counselor and proud mom of three, including a daughter living with a rare autoimmune disease. Living this rare disease life for the past 15 years has given Ronda firsthand insight into the emotional weight, resilience, and strength required of families facing rare disease. It was through this lived experience that she discovered her passion for helping other parents and caregivers feel seen, supported, and equipped.

With over two decades of professional experience in child and family mental health across a variety of settings, Ronda is excited to step into the role of Mental Health Coordinator at Cure JM. In this position, she blends her clinical expertise with her personal experience as a rare disease parent. Ronda is committed to creating meaningful resources that honor the unique challenges of the JM community, while fostering resilience, connection, and hope. At the same time, she is dedicated to advancing Cure JM’s mandate to elevate the importance of mental health supports for all families impacted by rare disease.

Beyond Cure JM, Ronda is the founder of Resilient Parent Consulting, where she equips parents of children with complex medical needs to reclaim calm, strengthen family connection, and rediscover hope. Her story fuels her mission, and her heart for families is clear: even in the hardest moments, there can be space for healing, joy, and community.

Ronda lives in Connecticut with her husband and three children.
