Dear Cure JM Community,

I am honored to share that Cure JM has been selected as a nonprofit keynote speaker at the National Institutes of Health Rare Disease Day on February 27, 2026.

During this session, I will have the opportunity to speak to more than 600 scientists in person and over 2,500 participants joining online about how the partnership between Cure JM, the NIH, and the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS) has helped advance juvenile myositis research and make real progress possible. One powerful example of this progress is CAR T therapy, which was studied at NCATS and is now in clinical trials for juvenile myositis.

As part of this session, I will present a Proclamation of Thanks to NCATS on behalf of the Cure JM community.

We are inviting families, young adults, grandparents, clinicians, and advocates to join together in adding your name to this Proclamation of Thanks. NCATS plays a critical role in accelerating collaboration and helping move promising discoveries from the laboratory to patients. In juvenile myositis, this leadership has helped lay the groundwork for innovative therapies, including the exploration of CAR-T and other emerging treatments.

This proclamation is simply an expression of gratitude. It is an opportunity for our community to recognize the impact of NCATS’ work and the hope this research brings to children and families affected by rare disease.

The Proclamation of Thanks will be formally presented to NCATS at NIH Rare Disease Day as a collective expression of appreciation from the Cure JM community.
