Dr. Melissa S. Tesher is a board-certified pediatric rheumatologist specializing in the care of children and adolescents with rheumatologic disorders. She earned her medical degree from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in 2004. Following this, she completed a residency in Social Pediatrics at the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore in the Bronx, NY. Dr. Tesher further specialized by completing a fellowship in pediatric rheumatology at the University of Chicago, after which she joined the faculty in 2011.
In her clinical practice, Dr. Tesher manages a wide array of pediatric rheumatologic disorders, with particular expertise in juvenile arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, and chronic musculoskeletal pain. She is deeply committed to caring for underserved children and has been recognized for her dedication to patient care. Notably, Dr. Tesher was selected as one of the top three pediatric rheumatologists in the Chicago area.
Beyond her clinical work, Dr. Tesher is actively involved in medical education. She frequently provides lectures to medical students and residents on various rheumatology topics, sharing her extensive knowledge and experience to train the next generation of healthcare professionals.
